What you get
No test record needed
The phone's own gyroscope counts the platter's revolutions — nothing to print out, no lamp. If you prefer the classic method, the app also includes a printable stroboscope disc; its on-screen mode flashes and is shown only after a warning.
It picks the speed itself
33⅓ or 45 is detected automatically — there is no mode to choose and nothing to set up beforehand.
More than one number
Measured RPM, deviation from target, stability (RMS), wow (2-sigma), the slowest and fastest moment, and a graph of the whole eight seconds.
How it works
Set a delayed start
Choose the delay so you have time to start the platter and take your hands away.
Phone flat at the center
Any offset from the axis, or any tilt, can throw the measurement off.
Eight seconds
Measuring begins by itself once the signal is stable, and the result arrives with the graph.
Honestly
An estimate from the phone's sensor, not a calibrated measuring instrument. Stop the turntable first — only then take the phone off. You are responsible for your equipment.
